Harvey Travis joined Gripple as a Digital Marketing Apprentice in August 2021 and his role includes helping to create and deploy digital marketing campaigns.

What attracted you to the Gripple apprentice scheme?

I had a temporary role at sister company Loadhog before I started my apprenticeship at Gripple, so I already knew about the GLIDE culture and values. This positively influenced my decision to move over to Gripple when the digital marketing opportunity presented itself.

What do you think makes the Gripple apprentice scheme different to others out there?

I have already been given real responsibility and taken on projects which have a direct impact on the business. I have been trusted to help work on global marketing campaigns and develop new digital strategies within the department. Gripple has treated me as a key member of the marketing team and involve me in key decision making. 

What has been your favourite project and why?

My favourite project has been taking ownership of the social media channels and adopting a fresh ‘tone of voice’ and style of posting… I analyse the data every month and the results so far have been very rewarding!

What internal development support have you received to supplement your course?

Being an apprentice means I should be learning ‘on the job’ and a great upside to working for Gripple is that they offer an extremely wide range of internal, as well as external training if there is an aspect of my role I would like to develop or enhance. 

How did your team make you feel welcome and support you?

As Gripple is 100% employee-owned, it’s important to work together and support each other. My team welcomed me with open arms and they always offer their care and support when needed.
